We’re Teamed Up: Supporting the Laverton Cycling Project in 2026
At Graveleur, we’ve always believed that bikes are more than just gear—they’re a way to connect, find adventure, and build community. From our very first group ride back in 2017 to the events we run today, our "why" has always been about the people we meet and the places we discover when we leave the city behind.
That’s why we are so stoked to announce that for our 2026 event series, we’re partnering with the Cycling Development Foundation (CDF) to support the Laverton Cycling Project.
Why this matters to us
Supporting the community has always been one of our core pillars. Over the years, we’ve been lucky enough to build a huge community of riders across Australia. We wanted to use that reach to give back to the remote regions we love to visit—places where getting on a bike isn't always as easy as rolling out of a suburban garage.
"I started Graveleur with a few mates looking for dirt roads to ride, and it’s grown into something much bigger than we ever expected," says Mike Israel, Founder of Graveleur. "Supporting the Laverton Cycling Project is a way for us to share that same discovery of joy. We love leaving the cities behind to find adventure in the outback, and we want to help the local kids there experience the same freedom and connection that cycling has given us."
What is the Laverton Cycling Project?
Based in a remote town in the WA Goldfields, this is a grassroots, locally-led program that gets bikes and helmets into the hands of young people. But it’s about more than just equipment—it’s about mechanical support, regular riding opportunities, and building confidence and health in a place where access to sport can be limited.
Brad Hall, Managing Director of the CDF, sees this partnership as a bridge between the racing community and remote impact:
"Cycling is a vehicle for human development. In remote areas like Laverton, a bike represents autonomy and freedom. We’re incredibly grateful to team up with the Graveleur community. Their support means we can keep showing up every month to provide the equipment and mentoring these young people need to stay healthy, active, and connected."
The CDF Racing Program provides the elite coaching and sports science expertise that powers the Laverton Cycling Project, while also serving as a high-performance pathway and mentorship network for the program's young riders.
How you can help
We’ve made it easy for the Graveleur community to get involved. Throughout our 2026 series—including Thunderbolts Adventure, Clarkes Gambit, and Marys Mayhem—you’ll have the option to chip in and support the project directly when you sign up for an event.
Every dollar raised goes straight toward keeping these kids on bikes, maintaining gear, and growing the program in Laverton.
More than just kilometres
As we traverse the beautiful landscapes and rural towns that make our events special, we want our riders to feel a sense of pride. When you line up at the start line in 2026, you aren't just riding for yourself—you’re playing a hand in making cycling more inclusive and accessible for kids who live thousands of kilometres away.
We’ll be sharing stories and updates from Laverton throughout the year so you can see exactly where your support is going.
See you on the dirt!
