Thunderbolts Adventure Course Options
In 2026 we’ve got options to suit just about everyone. Four different options so you can be a part of the Pilgrimage back to Gloucester.
The We have options people!
The Monument: This is the BIG ONE but not as you know. A new twist on the classic course with a shortcut to make it just that little more accessible. Now 173km and 3,526vm return to Gloucester.
Start at 6:00 AM Saturday April 25, 2026 at the Gloucester Community Hall.
The Colt: Introduced in 2025 this 95km loop is still spicy, but a bit less of the lung busting and more of the heart soother.
Start at 8:00 AM Saturday April 25, 2026 at the Gloucester Community Hall.
The Remington: A new 40km loop for those that like to cruise.
Start at 8:00 AM Saturday April 25, 2026 at the Gloucester Community Hall.
The Pilgrim: Make your own way to Gloucester on one of our approved routes and join us for the celebration Saturday night. These routes will be approximtely 250km - 500km loops from key centres to Gloucester and return. Budget 3-4 days of bikepacking.
Arrive at the Avon Valley Inn for dinner April 25, 2026.
NOTE: There is no overnighter for 2026. There "may" be a very casual recovery/coffee ride Sunday morning. Meet at The Common ready to roll out at 8am.
The Monument
STATS: 173km, 3,526vm
STARTING: 6:00am. Cutoff times apply.
CUTOFF: You must reach the base of the main climb by 9:00am (Geales Bridge over Dilgry River) . This will require you to avg 18kph in order to finish within the 10 hour support window.
NOTE: This year we are bypassing Moonan Flat and taking Pheasants Creek Rd through to Tomalla.
The Colt
STATS: 93km, 1,460vm (clockwise direction)
STARTING: 8am and Finish in Gloucester.
The Remington
STATS: 46km, 602vm (clockwise direction)
STARTING: 8am and Finish in Gloucester. A figure 8 that follows the Colt riders to the 22km, then makes a sharp left hand turn and returns to Glucester via Barrington township
The Pilgrim
STATS: 250-500km 3-4 days of bikepacking
STARTING: Various vetted courses will be released that emcompass out and back as well as loops via Gloucester. Plan your ride to arrive in Gloucester for dinner on April 25 at the Avon Valley Inn.
