Get Ready, Clarkes Gambit is Back

The feedback was overwhelmingly positive in 2022. That’s not to say we can’t make it better. Some people reckoned the courses were a bit tough and technical in parts and that’s fair enough. We’ll be reviewing all the feedback to make it even more fun and accessible in 2023.

If you loved it, we know you’ll be back. If you reckon we missed the mark, tell us here so we can improve.

Imagine you have just finished a days cycling on mint gravel backroads. You are tired but feel at peace as you enjoy a drink with your friends and family at the SteamPacket Hotel and watch the sunset.

You know a big feed is coming up and a sweet car camping setup awaits your weary bones. And the best thing is you get to do it all again tomorrow.

This is Clarkes Gambit.

The event name seeks to build on our Bushranger series of events; the Clarke gang led by brothers Thomas and John Clarke, were the nation’s deadliest bushrangers that rustled livestock, ambushed gold shipments and robbed traders from Braidwood to Bega in southern New South Wales in the mid 1860’s.

On the 28 – 29 October 2023, we’ll be descending on the sleepy little town of Nelligen, NSW for what promises to be another epic weekend of riding groomed gravel roads through the on the banks of Clyde River.

It will have all the hallmarks of what you’ve come to expect from Graveleur, fun, social, inclusive riding on exceptional gravel roads, without the hard stuff you might still be trying to forget from Thunderbolts Adventure!

Clarkes Gambit is proud to be partnering with the Eurobodalla Shire Council to bring you this event.

Family Friendly

Family discounts, entries for 12-17yo. We are also looking at providing ride leaders to help guide you along the way.

Price drop for 2023 to account for no meals included. Food Festival at Caravan park so you can choose your favourite recovery fuel

Special attention and focus on attracting and catering for female riders. Send a DM to our ambassadors @steph_skinner @samarasheppard @bionic_em1 and they will tell you why this event is one for the gravel girls!
