28 August, 2027
In 2026, Graveleur in conjunction with AusCycling hosted the NSW State Gravel Championships for 2026 as part of the Clarkes Gambit Gravel event. In 2027, we’re hoping to go one step further and crown NSW and ACT Gravel rider Champions.
Riders will have the choice to RACE or RIDE the Long Course on Saturday. Those choosing to RACE should select the appropriate sub-event in the entry pipeline.
Riders can also choose the One Day RACE option if they are unable to stay overnight and join the social ride on Sunday. Those entering the RACE must have a valid AusCycling Race license to enter and be turning 18 or older in 2027. Categories for Men and Women will feature U19, Elite, and Masters in 5 year age brackets. We hope to see you there!

Come and join us for a weekend getaway of Sun, Surf and Cycling!
Join us at Clarkes Gambit for the second round of the 2027 Bushranger Gravel Series. Whether you decide to race it or cruise it, the choice is yours, with prizes for the fastest male and female across the line!
Imagine you have just finished a days cycling on mint gravel backroads. You are tired but feel at peace as you enjoy a drink with your friends and family at the SteamPacket Hotel and watch the sunset.
This is Clarkes Gambit
The event name seeks to build on our Bushranger series of events; the Clarkes gang led by brothers Thomas and John Clarke, were the nation’s deadliest bushrangers that rustled livestock, ambushed gold shipments and robbed traders from Braidwood to Bega in southern New South Wales in the mid 1860’s.
The event will feature two days of sublime gravel cycling with three (3) different distances to choose from. There is also a One Day option. Your entry fee is super good value and gets you:

Marking multiple courses on consecutive days is expensive, time-consuming and bad for the environment.
Uploading a GPX/FIT file to your bike computer is super easy. Even easier if you have a RideWithGPS or STRAVA subscription. Grab your IT Support buddy and practice at home.
