Welcome to Marys Mayhem 2025

marys mayhem start

We had a blast in 2024, and we can’t wait to return to the beautiful Mudgee/Rylstone region in 2025!

SAVE THE DATE: Marys Mayhem is back for 2025. As well as loads of champagne gravel in close proximity to the wider Sydney/Newcastle regions, we’ll be bringing back some of the finest local craft brewers, live music and local food at the finish of both days. This will be more of the same chilled social gravel cycling, blue ribbon support, and meticulous organisation that you have come to expect from Graveleur.

After a successful trial in 2024, we’ll be running Saturday as a timed event with timing chips and prizes for the fastest female & male Long Course finishers. Whether you choose to race it or ride it is up to you!

Your entry fee is superb value and gets you:

  • 2 days of riding on some of the best champagne gravel roads in Australia.

  • Professional event pics from ReadyAimMedia.

  • On course Feed Zone and mechanical support.

  • Fully insured event with approval from local council and authorities.

  • Goodies bag including your own limited edition commemorative patch.

  • A huge cache of prizes kindly donated by our sponsors. Prizes will be allocated on a first entered, best prize basis. Enter earlier for the chance of a better prize!

*Family & group discounts are available.

Who was Mary Ann Bugg?

Mary Ann Bugg is the inspiration for Marys Mayhem. She was a proud Worimi woman and arguably Australia's first female bushranger in the 1800s. Married to Captain Thunderbolt, legend has it that she single-handedly busted him out of prison on Cockatoo Island by swimming across shark infested waters of Sydney Harbour with a file held between her teeth. She was jailed for unconventional acts like wearing men's clothing and operated out of Mudgee. What a legend!
