Thunderbolts Adventure Course Options

Thunderbolts Adventure is an “overnighter” in the sense that it is a 2-day ride with a stopover in Moonan Flat which is about the halfway point of the whole course.

Saturday: Ride from Gloucester to Moonan Flat via Barrington Tops Forest Rd. The course is 105km and 2400vm. There will be two water stops.

Sunday: Ride Moonan Flat to Gloucester via Tomalla and Curricabark. The course is 125km and 2400vm. There will be two water stops.

The main event is the 2-day social overnighter. On the entry page, this is called the “Standard Course”. There is also a category for an Elite 2-day stage race. If you are a competitive bike-packing racer, you can apply to enter the Race by emailing us at info@graveleur.cc. The race and the social ride cover exactly the same course. The starting time for the Elite race will be delayed 1 hour each day to allow for the faster speeds of these riders.

One Day option: This year we are adding a new category that features a 1 day gravel ride of approximately 70km and 1600vm on Saturday. The start and finish is Moonan Flat. The loop will utilise parts of the main course to form a clockwise loop back to Moonan Flat. This option includes your meals and camping levy just like the main course. You can then drive home after breakfast Sunday morning. It is designed for anyone looking for an easier introduction to Gravel riding. This is definitely for you if you like to ride “party pace”.
