Graveleur, in partnership with Blue Metal Cycling are canvassing for expressions of interest from any cyclist who’d like to join a Gravel tour of North Eastern Tasmania (based out of Derby).
Email us at info@graveleur.cc and put “Blue Metal” in the subject line if you are interested.
In particular tell us how you feel about the following or if we can design something better suited to what you and your mates prefer:
Cost: The cost would be $2,300 for a 5 day tour. This is a premium tour inclusive of all airport transfers, meals, ride support, accommodation and drinks. Just get yourself and your bike to Launceston airport and the rest is on us. Meals in particular are designed to take advantage of local fine produce and will be very high quality.
Some tours are based in a larger city and require daily transfer rides to the gravel. Some tours rely on meals in restaurants, you eat what you are given and you pay extra for drinks and snacks. NOT ON THIS TOUR
ON THIS TOUR, the gravel is on your doorstep. Walk out your door, mount your bike and getting riding gravel.
We have an in house chef with us for the whole tour. Sandy hails from the Maggie Beer school of cooking and is simply marvelous. With a focus on local produce, Sandy will provide your every culinary need on and off the bike. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on the bike, it’s all included.
In addition, we know most of us enjoy a good beer or wine with dinner when on tour. A selection of local wines and beer from Little Rivers Brewery are yours to enjoy, all included.
Dates: 17 – 21 October 2022
17 Oct: pick up from airport/city then travel to Derby, build bikes and go for a ride.
18- 20 October: Day rides, out from Derby including a lap of Ben Lemond
21 Oct: morning ride and return to airport/city in afternoon
Group: We can accommodate 7-12 riders. Get some mates together and tell us who’s coming
Where/What: The day rides would be about 70km and 1200vm but can be extended for stronger riders. No one get’s left behind, but equally important, no one is expected to stand around waiting. All abilities catered to. If you think Derby is good for MTB, you haven’t seen anything till you sample some of the gravel roads available in that region.
We’re excited to be able to bring this to you and hope to hear from you about what you’d like to see cycling in Tasmania.
